When we raise our fists, we are raising our hearts.
I won’t dampen my voice … anymore
Grey/silver hair, aging, natural beauty - acceptance, embracing ourselves at every stage in life - release, exhale, let your hair down - rest, recovery, revitalization - absorb, bask, receive the energy around us, the sun and moon and stars.
Resisting is a bit like getting into that (societal) river, planting your feet, and standing still against the current. Knowing that I possess a power, not to push the river, but to stand in it - to stand up to it. One person doesn’t change much, but when enough of us decide to get in and stand our ground, eventually we being to change the way that the river flows.
Set your sights on a point on the horizon, a goal that gets to the heart of you, a mission that all other aspects of your life can nestle around … and then move in that direction. Make decisions that support forward movement, adjust habits to build endurance for the journey of your life. It might take a while to find that point, and it may shift as you grow and mature, but at least you are moving in the right direction - for you. And we all know the journey is the life.
Imperfect, rough around the edges .. well intended, labored and messy. Seems I needed a whole bunch of imperfect hearts to show me the power of being human.
I’ve been carrying around an idea from Georgia O’Keefe since visiting her museum in Santa Fe - wherein she talks about happiness being momentary .. but interest can be prolonged.
To be interested … provides prolonged purpose.
